Distinctive flexible performance

The Twin Tec™ filter innovatively combines two technologies to provide optimum performance as well as visual differentiation. It uses different types of material in a coaxial configuration with a shaped section forming the central core. When used with cigarette ventilation, the filter can give a significant reduction of carbon monoxide and other vapour phase gases without reducing tar levels by the same factor in a ventilated cigarette.

Filter construction

Comprising two types of high-quality crimped cellulose acetate fibres in a coaxial formation, the inner core can be produced in various shapes and is encased in an outer cylinder. Alternatively, the core can be constructed from paper to further increase flexibility.

The different materials selected for the inner and outer components are used to design the flow paths of different pressure drop and / or filtration efficiency. The filter is wrapped in an outer plugwrap, which can be standard or porous.

A range of shapes, material combinations, lengths, and circumferences can be tailored to the cigarette. Smoke flow, levels of tar and nicotine retention, reduction of carbon monoxide and draw resistance are controlled. Designed to enhance branding, and suit customer taste and filtration requirements.
