Consistent with its Drive for 2020 strategic objectives and to support its growth ambitions, Essentra plc (“Essentra” or “the Company”) today announces the official opening of a new, purpose-built distribution centre in Leduc, Canada. Consolidating its previous activities on the west coast of Canada, this new, 23,000 sq. ft. facility – strategically located in the heart of the Alberta oil patch - accommodates both Essentra’s Pipe Protection Technologies and Components businesses, and provides the necessary space to continue the rapid expansion of the Company’s product range to the strategically important Canadian market.

As a global leading supplier to the oil and gas sectors, Essentra Pipe Protection Technologies provides the broadest range of innovative thread and pipe protection products. The offering includes the Tector Plus® series of thread protectors, a heavier closed-end design which has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of the Canadian market, providing protection from environmental elements as well as easy handling.

In addition, from the new site, Essentra’s Components’ customers can select from nearly six million essential parts from the Company’s well-known Alliance, Reid Supply and Richco ranges, which are available in stock for rapid shipment: they can also benefit from free samples and CAD drawings.

Commenting on this announcement, Brett York – President, Americas – stated:

“One of the key platforms of our Drive for 2020 strategy is Operational Excellence, with the objective of focusing our efforts on fewer, bigger and better facilities. The consolidation of our activities in western Canada – together with our distribution centre in Toronto - underscores this commitment in the Americas region, and will ensure that we are optimally positioned to provide a market-leading product range and superior service level to our customers from a site footprint based on future growth opportunities.”
