In a firm attempt to address counterfeit mediciations in the supply chain, one of the greatest threats to consumers, the EU Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) has enforced the inclusion of serialisation and tamper evident features on pharmaceutical packaging. The changes, coming in from 2019, will have a huge impact across the industry.
