The problem of counterfeiting in medicine is widespread and, according to the United States FDA’s estimate, makes up more than 10% of the global medicines market. These counterfeit products pose a pervasive and complex challenge for businesses and consumers around the world and, whilst the threat is very real in any industry, it is particularly dangerous in the pharmaceutical industry.

Thankfully, packaging innovation and a layered approach to security and authentication can protect consumers and pharmaceutical companies.
